Dorothy was made a Fellow of the Royal Western Australian Historical Society in 2019. This was a great honour. She is still working on auditing and researching the collection of art and craftworks in their collection and writing up the stories of the more interesting objects.
She is a long time Fellow of FORM, formerly Craft West, and although no longer an active member continues to write on the crafts of Western Australia. At present she is revising her book Inspired by Light and Land Pt 2 on the contemporary crafts from 1960-2000 and creating a dictionary of artists, artisans, architects and designers in Western Australia from 1829-1959 which, when she gets time, she will migrate to the DAAO website.
Making jewellery has been somewhat restricted while the website for Miguel Mackinlay has been constructed over the past three years. http://www.miguelmackinlay.org was launched in London in 2019.
Dorothy’s elegant book on the accomplished silversmith Philip Noakes also took up time and was launched at his exhibition in 2019. http://www.philipnoakes.com.au
Meanwhile a ring of hers features in the 2019 publication Rings of the 20th and 21st Century from the Alice and Louis Koch Collection by Beatriz Chadour-Sampson published by Arnoldsche in German and English with the work on display in Zurich in the Swiss National Museum.
In 2020 Dorothy was inducted into the Design Institute of Australia Hall of Fame. Read the story from Curtin University News. Click Here
