Line
The graphic Line Series made of steel cable developed out of experiments conducted during an extremely difficult time in my personal life. I temporarily lost my eyesight and for recurrent periods the use of my hands.
It is a celebration of will to overcome such obstacles and continue to create. The flexible quality which is so seductive allows the opportunity for creating mesmeric kinetic effects. Fluid lines of stainless steel cable are clasped in place or punctuated by golden forms.
The Line Series was featured in the ABC television series "Craft in Australia" shown in 1991-2 and was exhibited widely in Japan. Work from this series won the City of Perth Craft Award in 1986 and is in the collection of the Queen Victoria Museum and Art Gallery, Launceston.
